Water Main Projects
W. Diversey & N. Mildred Water/Sewer Main (Halsted to Sheffield):
- Contractor: Joel Kennedy Construction Corp.
- Water Main Dimensions: 8-inches in diameter, approximately 4,345 ft. in length
- Water/Sewer Main Location: the new W Diversey water main will be installed in the westbound traffic/parking lane. New sewer mains will be installed in W. Diversey from N Mildred Ave. to N Halsted St. and in N Mildred Avenue from W. Wolfram St. to W Diversey Pkwy
- Anticipated Completion Date (water main installation only): mid-May (subject to change)
- Street Restoration (asphalt): TBD
- Sidewalk, Curb and Gutter Restoration: all damaged sidewalk, curb and gutter will be replaced following water/sewer main installation
- Street Closures: there will be periodic closures of W. Diversey & N. Mildred while crews are working. Detour signs will be posted. You will always be able to reach your home or business. The construction crew will place metal plates over open excavations. Outside of working hours, a lane will be left open for local traffic only.
- Parking Restriction: Parking will be restricted/limited throughout the duration of the project, Monday – Friday
- Water Shutoffs: residents will receive advanced notice of all scheduled shutoffs. In the event of an emergency shutoff, the construction crew will not be able to provide advanced notice
- * The street will be temporarily restored so that traffic and parking are not impacted prior to resurfacing
- *Please note: parking will be restricted during working hours throughout the duration of the project. When necessary, there will be periodic lane closures to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles. When lane closures are necessary, construction crews will post detour signs to help navigate traffic.
W. Barry Ave Water Main (Kenmore to Racine):
