Can I pay my parking tickets on-line?

Yes, you can pay for parking tickets on-line through the City of Chicago's Paying a Parking Ticket Webpage.

What can I do if my car is towed?

To locate your towed vehicle you can contact the City of Chicago Auto Pound Headquarters at (312) 744-4444. You can also check the city's website by clicking here.

If your vehicle was towed due to outstanding parking ticket debt, contact Customer Service at (312) 744-PARK(7275).

The pound will keep a vehicle on premises for 15 days before the vehicle is eligible for auction or destruction. The registered owner is notified by certified mail of the impending action.

Can I park a pickup truck on a residential street?

Yes, but only while the commercial truck, regardless of weight, is providing deliveries or services to customers (ie: contractors, electricians, plumbers, furniture of other deliveries), or other expeditious loading or unloading.

OR:

When a residential truck permit is displayed and the truck is parked near the residence of the owner. This exception only applies within participating wards (including 44).

What is required to obtain a residential truck permit:

•   The vehicle must weigh less than 4,500 lbs.
•   The vehicle should not have any outstanding City of Chicago parking violations.
•   You must present proof of a current city sticker.

Obtaining a residential parking truck permit:
Applications are available in the 44th Ward Service Office (1057 W. Belmont) or from the Office of the City Clerk at 121 LaSalle St., Room 107, Chicago, IL 60602. There is no cost to the permit.

How can I get around without having to own a car?

Three CTA rapid transit lines serve the 44th Ward, the Red Line, the Brown Line, and the Purple Line. In addition, there are 11 bus routes serving the ward. See the 44th Ward Public Transportation Map for the location of CTA rapid transit stations and the bus routes serving the ward.

Taxi service is readily available in the ward, and taxis are easily flagged on these major streets: (N-S streets listed east to west) Sheridan, Broadway, Halsted, Clark, Ashland; (E-W streets listed north to south) Irving Park, Addison, Belmont, Diversey.
