Help the 44th Ward celebrate our seniors and join us for lunch, entertainment and prizes at Alderman Tunney's 8th Annual Senior Picnic at Lincoln Park right across from Wellington and Lake Shore Drive. Food and prized are provided by John Barleycorn, Tai's til 4, Argo Tea, John Merlo Sports Program and Ann Sather's.

Southport - between Waveland and Grace

Summer on Southport is a unique event taking place this summer in Chicago and includes the 8th Annual Children’s Festival. Southport gives attendees a delicious, eclectic mixture of the culinary, visual, and performing arts.

This two-day community festival is located at 3700 N. Southport at Waveland near Wrigley Field – home of the Chicago Cubs. Southport is one of the city’s mecca shopping/nightlife districts and includes beautifully maintained tree-lined streets, with rows of lovely houses in all manner of architectural styles.

Local artisans will showcase their wares and local restaurants and eateries will offer your favorite summer food. Our Sunday Gospel Brunch will provide an early morning opportunity to join us in this celebration of community.

On Sunday, August 1 at 9am, Alderman Tunney will hold his annual Kids Bike Parade at the Summer on Southport festival at Grace and Southport. Parents and their children are welcome to decorate their bicycles and come join us for for a morning of fun!

North Halsted is one of Chicago's most popular year-round neighborhoods for both city residents and visitors. This popularity gets magnified during Northalsted Market Days® -- the Midwest's largest two-day street festival.

Market Days spans four city blocks and has 17 entrance gates. The event features four music stages where more than 40 top-name local and national music acts perform.
